This is my long-delayed debut on Substack. I've named my space in honor of the poem below and a story about our evacuation from the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii.
This is one of the most moving things I’ve read in a long time. There’s something sacred in the way you surrendered, not just to nature’s force, but to its wisdom. The poem, the dance, the red sky, the shadow with wings… it all feels like a prayer in motion. Thank you for sharing something so intimate and alive. I’ll carry this with me.
Grace, pain, faith, freedom, openness… your primordial intuitive sense- all of this is so resonant for me & your writing/storytelling is gorgeous- as is what you made of this wildly life altering experience filled with such wisdom & strength. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for your wisdom and sharing!
That painting detail! Where is it from?

Lovely writing! And thanks a bunch for sharing the poem. I've restacked a piece of it, with the suggestion to read the whole thing. Write on!
